A Wednesday...

Hi little son of ours!

Your Mommies are very proud of you. Thank you for growing like a good little boy and staying healthy. We got to see you on the ultrasound machine again today, at 29 weeks you are incredible and such a big boy. Of course you had to be difficult and face Mommy's back everytime we wanted to catch a glimpse of your beautiful face, but that's okay, you wouldn't be our son if it was any different!

Dr. S. at the Maternal and Fetal Medicine clinic at the Hospital said that you now weight 2 lbs 7 oz and are just over 14in long. Your Mom's love you so much and we just can't wait to see you in just a couple of months.

Love,
Mommy & Mama

24 week 3D Ultrasound pic

Just wanted to share an ultrasound picture of Sebastian Jack

Our Baby Story

Just thought I'd share a bit of our 2010 TTC (trying-to-conceive) journey...

After spending a few months discussing the topic, Char and I committed to trying to get pregnant beginning in March of 2010. We made an appointment with my OB/Gyn Dr. Satterfield (Dr. S) and began the preparation process. I got all of my bloodwork done to ensure I was ovulating on time and after it came back perfectly we decided to give it a go in April. That try ended without our desired positive pregnancy test.
Char and I often joke because it was as if our OB Dr. S. was more disappointed about that first cycle than we were. She seemed absolutely determined to succeed the next cycle...and she did. However, that 2nd doctor assisted IUI (intra-uterine insemination) ended in an early miscarriage. We still talk about that little person we almost created...
It was tough moving forward right away, but with our doctors okay, we did. Our 3rd IUI was scheduled for July 12th 2010, interestingly enough that was the day prior to my Mom's 60th birthday. Well, we got our wish...on July 27th, 2010 I took a home pregnancy test and it immediatly came up positive. Char said she just knew the entire cycle that I was pregnant.

Today, as I type, I am 27 weeks and 2 days pregnant. It hasn't been an easy pregnancy but I'd do it all again to get our son. Sebastian Jack is due on April 5th, 2011. We simply cannot wait to meet him...

rfamily blog gets up and running...

Feels odd to be writing a post seemingly addressed to someone without the knowledge that anyone will read it...funny!
I decided today I'd begin our families blog that I've intended to creat for some time already. Mostly this mornings motivation arose out of the boredom surrounding daytime tv and life on a couch due to a complicated pregnancy. I am 27 weeks and 2 days pregnant with our son today.
It still feels asthough we just got our positive pregnancy test yesterday, yet when I look down at my tummy I can clearly see its been a few months. :) Char and I are both so excited for our sons arrival, it gets closer and more real every day.

I'll find time I'm sure to go into more detail about how we conceived our son and what this pregnancy has meant later on. In time I fear you'll all get to know us a little too much!
Thanks for reading and allowing me a space to share...and Welcome.
